MOUNT CARMEL — The annual Divine Redeemer Church Parish Festival will be held from 4 to 10 p.m. Friday, June 14, and 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 15 at Divine Mercy Hall and on the picnic grounds, 400 block of West Cherry Street.

The festival features live music — the polka band Swingmasters on Friday and the band MAK Saturday.

As always, the festival offers a wide variety of homemade ethnic and traditional foods. Food is available only during the scheduled festival hours, with the exception of Saturday when the potato cake sale starts at noon.

Other festival foods are haluski, pigeons, pierogies, pulled pork, sausage, hot dogs, hamburgers, soupies, chicken fingers and fries. Back this year are theme baskets, a strawberry shortcake booth, a cake wheel, sale of baked goods, raffles and a Kidz Zone and, new this year, a caricature artist.

Theme baskets will be on display throughout the festival, with a pre-sale scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
