SUNBURY — Northumberland County District Attorney Tony Matulewicz advises county residents that pamphlets and booklets covering a wide range of criminal activity will be available to the public at the Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

The pamphlets can be found on first and second floor tables and cover topics such as: protecting personal information; online dating; grandchild scams; scams and small business; payday loans and cash advances; phone scams; “you’ve won” scams; charity fraud; and IRS imposter scams.

Matulewicz said scams and identity theft are a nationwide problem. Technological advances have allowed these crimes to evolve on a continuous basis. The perpetrators of these crimes often operate outside the United States making investigation of these crimes nearly impossible.

The pamphlets will help education citizens and are them with the ability to identify scams before they can successfully executed.
