ELYSBURG — The Elysburg Knights of Columbus, Father Charles R. Slough Council 14161, recently awarded its annual scholarships to three graduating seniors who submitted an essay that described the significance of their Catholic faith and their parents’ roles in molding their Christian direction.

The third-place scholarship was awarded to Maria Maresca, who received $500. She will attend Shippensburg University with an undeclared major.

Maria is a daughter of Greg and Nicole Maresca.

The second-place scholarship was awarded to Haley Scopelliti. She will attend Bucknell University to study mechanical engineering.

Haley is a daughter of Joseph and Kim Scopelliti.

The first-place scholarship winner was Sarah Rodriguez. She will attend Bloomsburg University to major in nursing.

Sarah is a daughter of Tony and Kay Rodriguez.

The scholarships were awarded on May 18 following Mass at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church.

The Knights wish all of this year’s graduates the best in their future and pray that their Catholic faith strengthens as they pursue their dreams.
