SUNBURY — A Shamokin Area School Board candidate who tied for a Democratic nomination in the May 16 primary does not want to be considered for the nomination.

Candidate Robert Getchey, who tied with William Krieger III for the party’s fifth and final nomination for the board, according to unofficial totals, said he supports Krieger for the position.
