SUNBURY — Akeem Tyree Gregory, of Shamokin, who is accused of attempted murder and other offenses relating to a shooting in Shamokin and a six-hour standoff in Mount Carmel in February 2020, was denied bail once again Tuesday morning by Northumberland County Judge Hugh A. Jones because he is considered a danger to the community.

Gregory’s attorney Michael Rudinski, of Williamsport, told the judge his client is entitled to bail since he is not charged in a capital case and should be released from Northumberland County Jail based on provisions set forth by Rule 600 and his right to a speedy trial.
