COAL TOWNSHIP — An inmate serving a 45-year to life sentence for murder is accused of breaking the arm of a nurse and injuring a correctional officer at SCI-Coal Township on Aug. 27.

Niejea Franklin Stern, 21, who is now incarcerated at SCI-Frackville, is charged by Trooper Aaron Brown, of state police at Stonington, with three felony counts of aggravated assault, a felony of assault by a prisoner, misdemeanors of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, and a summary of harassment.
