WILLIAMSPORT — Following a nearly four-year legal battle and more than two weeks into his trial, Dr. Raymond Kraynak has pled guilty to 12 counts of unlawful distribution and dispensing of a controlled substance one day after the prosecution rested its case.

The change in plea, accepted by federal prosecutors and Chief U.S. Middle District Judge Matthew Brann Thursday morning, will come with a recommended 15 years in prison for sentencing. Brann ordered a pre-sentencing investigation to be conducted before a date is set for the sentencing.

Staff writer Mark Gilger reported from the federal courthouse in Williamsport.
