Sunday morning automobile crash in Shamokin

SHAMOKIN — One of the drivers involved in a two-car crash at Mulberry and Market streets on Jan. 26 that claimed the life of Sharon Adams has been charged with homicide by vehicle.

Charges filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III claim Miguel A. Torres, 23, of 724 E. Race St., Shamokin, was high on marijuana and driving 62 to 64 miles per hour when his Mini Cooper collided with Adams’ Honda, killing her and injuring her passenger, Robert Alter.
