Mom, stepmom of student suspended by school questions discipline

COAL TOWNSHIP — The stepmother and mother of an eighth-grade student at Shamokin Area questioned the school board on Tuesday over the 10-day suspension of their son regarding an alleged incident during the home football game Sept. 9 at Kemp Memorial Stadium.

Jessica Fuqua said her stepson, 13-year-old Jyneil Anderson, stands accused by the district of various violations, such as misconduct, inciting a riot and trespassing, but she claimed her son was the person attacked in the home stands during halftime of the game.
