ELYSBURG — More than 500 senior citizens from the Northumberland County area attended the eighth annual Senior Citizen Expo Thursday, sponsored by Rep. Kurt Masser at Ralpho Community Park in Elysburg.

The event featured more than 50 vendors who provided information on services provided for seniors throughout the area. Free flu shots were among the offerings to those in attendance.

Masser welcomed the large group in the park’s dining hall where a luncheon was served. Several programs were held in the flower exhibition building, with speakers providing seniors information about varied programs available to seniors through federal, state and local sources.

Representatives from various organizations including medical service groups were also on hand to offer information and advice on the availability of free programs for the seniors.

Students from Southern Columbia Area High School assisted in the annual expo by serving lunch in the dining hall.

Special prizes were awarded to those attending whose names were drawn.
