DANVILLE — Dr. Megan Esch, a board-certified neurologist, has joined the medical staff of Geisinger, specializing in multiple sclerosis care.

Multiple sclerosis is a disease affecting the central nervous system that can disturb the coordination within the brain and between the brain and body. Common symptoms of the disease are vision problems, weakness and numbness, imbalance and cognitive dysfunction, among others.

Esch is fellowship trained in neuroimmunology and neuroinfectious diseases from Johns Hopkins University. She completed her residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and received her medical degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, Illinois.

Esch has a clinical interest in identifying individualized treatment plans for each multiple sclerosis patient. She is currently enrolling patients in a collaborative multicenter research trial to address this topic.
