Fire safety program scheduled

KULPMONT — Kulpmont Borough Fire Department will conduct a fire safety program in front of the East End truck room from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

TNR presentation set at MC Township

ATLAS — No Nonsense Neutering (NNN) will make a case for instituting its trap-neuter-release (TNR) program in Mount Carmel Township at the supervisors’ monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The organization earlier this week made a presentation to help Ralpho Township to fight strays there, and earlier this year Mount Carmel committed $1,500 in its 2018 budget for the program. NNN offers a discounted rate of $15 per cat for up tot 100 cats for municipalities. The normal charge is $35.

Surplus food distribution slated

KULPMONT — The borough will conduct a surplus food distribution from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday at the borough garage, Spruce Street. Residents are reminded to bring their bags.
