Officer of the year

Northumberland County District Attorney Tony Matulewicz, second from right, presented the Officer of the Year award to Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Trooper Mark Reasner, second from left, on Thursday at the Northumberland County Health and Human Services complex, Sunbury. The award was presented to Reasner belatedly because he was unable to attend last month’s 27th annual Northumberland County Juvenile Court Advisory Board banquet at the Northumberland County Career and Technology Center in Coal Township. Reasner was nominated by Sgt. John McGeary, left. Both men are stationed at Troop F in Milton. Also pictured is Lisa Donlan, right, chief juvenile probation officer Northumberland County. In addition to being a PSP state trooper, Reasner is the former mayor of Turbotville, assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 622, an assistant wrestling coach at Warrior Run High School and a youth football and basketball coach. Since 1998, he has also volunteered as a hunter education instructor with the state Game Commission.
