Kathy Latsha tuned into WQSU Tuesday night not knowing what to expect, but she soon realized her departed son, Patrick, was sending a message when the chords of a piano and the words “let it be” resonated through the speaker.

Kathy had a loving tradition of calling in at the beginning of her son’s shifts at the Susquehanna University radio station and requesting the song by The Beatles, but the 22-year-old cancer survivor from Shamokin never made it to Tuesday’s gig, having passed away following a heart attack Saturday evening while attending a fundraising event on campus.
