HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania added 6,778 additional positive cases of COVID-19, according to the Department of Health's update Saturday, pushing the total confirmed coronavirus infections in the state to 302,564 since the pandemic began.

There are currently 3,162 patients across the state hospitalized with COVID-19, with 661 of those patients in the intensive care unit.

Hospitalizations have reached levels not seen since May, according to the Department of Health.

In the Saturday update, the state announced 112 new deaths attributed to COVID-19 in a 24-hour period, bringing the statewide total to 9,801.

Nearly 2.7 million tests in Pennsylvania have come back negative since data tracking began in March.

In Northumberland County, 2,188 cases have been confirmed since the pandemic began, an increase of 70 cases in the past 24 hours.
