Police: Shamokin woman beat daughter with belt, extension cord

Yaminah C. Bethune-Lewis, 23, of 81 Raspberry Hill, Shamokin, is led out of the courtroom of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic following an arraignment Thursday on charges that she abused a child.

SHAMOKIN — A Shamokin woman is facing multiple charges for allegedly beating her 4-year-old daughter with a leather belt and an extension cord.

Yaminah C. Bethune-Lewis, 23, of 81 Raspberry Hill, has been charged by Patrolman Raymond Siko II with felonies of aggravated assault and aggravated assault with indifference to life and misdemeanors of endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault and possessing an instrument of crime.
