SHAMOKIN — Shamokin police arrested two men Thanksgiving morning after they allegedly broke into an East Independence Street building.

Aaron Bixler, 33, of Shamokin, and Anthony Zamboni, 35, of 313 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, were apprehended inside the former Fun Zone, located at 68 E. Independence St., and are facing charges of burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

The police did an excellent job getting these junkies off the street. Last time I was in Shamokin was in the Sixties and it was peaceful town.
