MOUNT CARMEL — A 27-year-old Mount Carmel woman charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol and related offenses in connection with a Feb. 27 accident on South Oak Street that led to the death of a 46-year-old borough man had a blood-alcohol content .253 percent, police said.

Nicole Marie Shipe, of 451 W. Fourth St., was charged Thursday morning by Patrolman Justin Stelma with felonies of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence of alcohol and aggravated assault while DUI, two misdemeanor counts of DUI, and summaries of reckless driving and careless driving.
