SHAMOKIN — Continuing to be positive voices in the community was Shamokin Area Businesses for Economic Revitalization’s (SABER) main message to its members at a meeting Thursday night.

Members of the organization, which is in the process of becoming a nonprofit, met for approximately 90 minutes inside the new addition of Ale House Bar & Grill along Independence Street to discuss its goals, ideas and upcoming events intended to improve the City of Shamokin.

Ill give you a positive voice when I see my taxes going down instead of up for nothing!

Are you kidding me? Your saying the four wheelers are the way? The way to revitalize our city thru tourism? What tourism? To come and watch the four wheelers drive thru our blighted city? Sorry. I M NOT BUYING IT. I'm happy for the ale house and all the other bars, but that is not what is going to repair our city. The likes of what is going on in the fifth ward is. That girl is trying to revitalize an area of the city that you guys have not even touched, on her own, with no help from the city. Cheers for her, jeers for you guys. She led the march for a clean up and continues to uplift the tax paying citizens of one of if not the most forgotten area of the city. Shame on all of you.
