PAXINOS — Pretty Petals & Gifts by Susan, 1168 Route 487, celebrated eight years in business in Paxinos this past November.
“What an adventure it has been,” said owner-operator Susan (Adams) Brouse. “We have been welcomed by surrounding communities with open arms. If you haven’t been to Pretty Petals, you have been missing a lot and should come visit the store.”
She added, “We are just not a flower shop. We have a wide variety of gift items, a large selection of house plants, silk floral arrangements, gifts baskets and many specialty items. Our customer service is friendly and helpful and we can help you decide on that special gift for someone, whoever it might be.”
Brouse said she and her employees pride themselves in partnering with local growers and crafters, Pennsylvania businesses and American-made items.
Recently, Pretty Petals and Gifts by Susan introduced a line of private label jellies, sauces, salsas and ciders that are produced in North Carolina by a family-owned company.
Brouse said the jellies, sauces, salsas and ciders, which have been taste tested by employees, are available individually or in gift baskets for any occasion. Flavors include Toe jam (tangerine, orange and elderberry) and Bear jam (blueberry, elderberry, apple and raspberry). Moonshine pickles, relishes, dressings and barbecue sauce also are available for sale.
She said a great line of metal items including Penn State signs, ornaments and decorative wall items produced in Pennsylvania by a company owned by women are sold at the store as well.
More than 20 local crafters display and sell their crafts in the store including cards, paper crafts, framed poems, soy candles, soaps, wood items, butterfly and pressed flower jewelry.
Fresh flowers, plants and gift baskets can be ordered through the store’s website at prettypetalsbysusan.com for delivery and pickup.
Brouse stated, “Pretty Petals can provide flowers and gift services from birth to death and everything in between.”
She urged people to visit her stores and thanked current customers for their patronage over the years.
“If you haven’t been in to visit us yet, stop in and see what you have been missing. If you are one of our existing customers, thank you for your patronage and we look forward to seeing you again.”
Brouse said, “Shop local, shop small, shop Pretty Petals.”
