MONTOURSVILLE — PennDOT District 3-0 reports the following road work for the coming week:


Work is progressing on the northern section of the Central Susquehanna Valley Transportation (CSVT) project as follows:

River bridge

Construction of piers 2 through 8 are complete. Construction continues on piers 1, 9, 12, 13 and 14. Steel girders are set on spans 5 through 8. Erection of span 4 will begin next week.

The causeway is being transitioned to the north side of the river. Work will be performed day and night. Boaters are advised to avoid the area.

Winfield interchange

Work will be performed on the bridges over existing Route 15 overnight next week. Delays are anticipated.

Route 15 northbound remains reduced to a single lane so the contractor can complete reconstruction of existing Route 15. The contractor is paving the existing Route 15 northbound lanes and shoulders. Watch for trucks entering and exiting the construction area.

Wide loads more than 14 feet are prohibited in the northbound direction. The single lane condition is expected to remain in place for most of the construction season. The southbound passing lane is closed periodically for the work.

Northumberland Co.

The contractor will be working on the Route 147 southbound bridge over Chillisquaque Creek and the bridge over Ridge Road. Concrete will be placed for the deck on the bridge over Ridge Road.

Duke St. project

Railroad underpass

Kriger Construction Inc., of Dickson City, the prime contractor on this $2.8 million project, will continue drainage work near the railroad underpass next week in Northumberland.

Route 11 northbound traffic is detoured across the Veterans Memorial Bridge

Front Street

Excavation and drainage work will continue on Front Street from A Street to just west of Hannover Street. The contractor will work 24 hours a day tonight through the week.

Parking is restricted on both sides of Front Street in the work zone.

There are temporary traffic signals at the intersections of Front Street and Orange Street and Front Street and King Street.
