William Milbrand, Tonya Leschinskie appointed to city council

SHAMOKIN — Former Mayor William Milbrand and Tonya Leschinskie were appointed to council Friday afternoon as a result of the sudden resignation of Scott Roughton and a judge removing Leschinskie’s husband, Joseph, due to felony convictions.

Northumberland County President Judge Charles H. Saylor on March 30 ordered Joseph Leschinskie Jr. removed from office after ruling that it is unconstitutional for a convicted felon to hold public office. Leschinskie was elected to city council Nov. 2 and had served as a councilman for three months.

Sad sad Shamokin I really don't think this town will ever recover. It's only going to get worse.

[love] I'm so happy for the Leschinskie Family ❤️❤️❤️
