WILLIAMSPORT — The parents of a Southern Columbia Area School District football player filed a federal lawsuit on Thursday that aims to remove the yearlong suspension against the boy so he can resume playing for the team, which has its first game Friday.

Thomas Waltman and Karen Wojtowicz filed the suit on behalf of Tyler Waltman, who is a senior. He was suspended from participating in any athletic events following apparent violations of the district's drug and alcohol policy.
