SHAMOKIN — A 43-year-old Shamokin man was arrested Wednesday on numerous felony charges related to the sale of methamphetamine from a property on Race Street.

Police executed a search warrant at 610 E. Race St. where Frank Nahodil, 43, of 35 N. Franklin St., was taken into custody. Cpl. Bryan Primerano said the Race Street property is located directly behind the Franklin Street home, both belonging on the same property deed.

Nahodil was charged for allegedly selling methamphetamine to confidential informants on Aug. 15 and Aug. 21. He received additional charges of possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia related to items found in a backpack belonging to him Wednesday.

He was arraigned by Magisterial Judge John Gembic and committed to Snyder County Prison in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.

Cpl. Jarrod Scandle filed felony charges of possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communication facility for allegedly selling $50 of meth to a confidential informant at the Race Street home.

Two felonies of possession with intent to deliver were filed against Nahodil by Primerano related to the alleged sale of $40 of meth to a confidential informant on Aug. 21.

Police located 12 individual bags of meth packaged for resale in the backpack, which also contained an identification card for Nahodil. Drug paraphernalia, marijuana and $440 were also found in the bag, according to Primerano.

Two additional men inside the residence were committed to Columbia County Prison on Northumberland County probation violations.

While executing the search warrant, Primerano said Janelle M. Sassani, 32, of 708 Kase St., Shamokin, was seen approaching the property by Chief Darwin Tobias, who attempted to put her under arrest on a warrant. Sassani allegedly began to run from police and was captured by Tobias about a half-block away, continuing to resist arrest.

Primerano charged Sassani with misdemeanors of flight to avoid apprehension and disorderly conduct. She was arraigned before Gembic and committed to Columbia County Prison in lieu of $7,500 cash bail.
