COAL TOWNSHIP — Several Shamokin Area School District teachers and administrators received their just “desserts” Thursday afternoon during a kickoff event to promote the district’s inaugural Mini-THON.

High school Principal Todd Hockenbroch, high school music teacher Mary Anne Stump and middle school history teacher Ty Crossley were among those who got a pie in the face in a local effort to raise funds for Four Diamonds, which provides financial support to childhood cancer patients and their families.
