TREVORTON — A 22-year-old Trevorton man has been charged with pointing a gun at a 14-year-old boy and two adults in this Zerbe Township village Saturday morning.
Andrew Robert Tasker-Paul, of 1101 Pleasant View, Trevorton, was arraigned at 10 a.m. Sunday by on-call Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III on a felony of aggravated assault and misdemeanors of recklessly endangering another person and endangering the welfare of a child. Gembic committed Tasker-Paul to Northumberland County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
The charges filed by Zerbe Township Patrolman James Hornberger Jr. relate to an incident that occurred at Tasker-Paul’s residence at 9:25 a.m.
According to a criminal complaint, the father of the juvenile victim contacted police at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday after learning of the incident that occurred earlier in the day. Police reported Tasker-Paul is accused of pulling a gun out between a couch cushion, spinning it in his finger and acting like he was going to throw it at the 14-year-old boy, Paige Brandt and Skyler Mordan. Police said Tasker-Paul then placed the magazine that contained no bullets in the gun and racked it before waving it at the juvenile, Brandt and Mordan.
During an interview with police, Tasker-Paul said he didn’t mean to point the gun at anyone. The suspect told police he was having mental issues since his father had recently passed away. He was then handcuffed and taken into custody.
