SUNBURY — A jury required under 20 minutes Thursday morning to convict 51-year-old Christy Willis, who lied to investigators to conceal the “monstrous” acts of her son, accused child murderer Jahrid Burgess, according to Northumberland County District Attorney Tony Matulewicz.

The jury of seven women and five men unanimously agreed that Willis, of Plum Creek Road, Sunbury, obstructed a child abuse case, hindered apprehension or prosecution and provided false reports to authorities relating to the beating of 3-year-old Arabella Parker, who died on Nov. 22, 2019, after spending more than a month in critical condition at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
