THARPTOWN — A Coal Township woman was confined to her overturned vehicle for 30 minutes as a result of a two-vehicle crash at 2:26 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Route 61 and 16th Street.

EMTs from AREA Services climbed into Robin Koza’s Chevrolet Malibu and laid on the hot asphalt to care for the woman as firefighters from Ralpho Fire Co. and Shamokin Rescue Co. removed the roof and front window of the vehicle in order to extricate the victim.
