MOUNT CARMEL — A 24-year-old Schuylkill County man is wanted by Mount Carmel Township Police Department in relation to an altercation Sunday afternoon at Choice Cigarette Discount Outlet during which a shot was reportedly fired.
Charges are pending against Jared Azar, 24, of Schuylkill County, in relation to the incident, which occurred around 4:20 p.m.
Patrolman Michael Pitcavage said he was dispatched to Choice along Route 61 for a reported altercation between two male customers. The victim and store employee reported one shot was allegedly fired from a silver revolver by Azar outside of the store. No one was injured.
He was believed to have left the scene in a silver Pontiac or Chrysler vehicle driven by a female headed down Route 61 toward Kulpmont. The male is approximately 6 feet tall with short dark hair and was last seen wearing shorts and a camouflage-type T-shirt.
He is believed to be armed and dangerous.
