UPPER PAXTON TOWNSHIP — State Police at Lykens charged Adrianna L. Candelaria, 22, of Herndon, with driving on roadway laned for traffic after a vehicle she was driving slid sideways on a wet road on Route 147 north of Midland Drive. Her vehicle slid across the southbound lane, went off the roadway and struck a telephone pole on the passenger side, partially overturning and becoming entangled in power lines from the sheared off pole.
Candelaria and her one-year-old passenger were transported to Holy Spirit Hospital.
COAL TOWNSHIP — William T. Yeager, 51, of 176 Upper Excelsion Road, Coal Township, was committed to Centre County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail following an argument with his wife, Bernadette Yeager, on Saturday, during which he allegedly threw a machete at her.
Coal Township Police charged Yeager with aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and possessing instruments of a crime.
COAL TOWNSHIP — Charles Mosley, 46, of 100 S. First St., Coal Township, was committed to Centre County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail on charges of simple assault and harassment.
Police said shortly before midnight Friday, Mosley allegedly assaulted his wife, Regina Mosley, 40, causing her to seek medical attention at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.
LEWISBURG — Michael Scott, 31, of Coal Township, was charged by Milton State Police for allegedly stealing $225.97 worth of merchandise from Walmart in Lewisburg on June 29.
SELINSGROVE — State Police at Selinsgrove said a 24-year-old Shamokin woman attempted to cut off the spider wrapping from two electronic items at Walmart on Saturday, accidentally cutting herself in the process. Walmart personnel reviewed cameras and discovered she was allegedly attempting to steal Sony speakers and a Netgear wireless AC adapter.
SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP — Bradley R. Bucher, 32, of Sunbury, was charged by State Police at Stonington for an accident that occured on Route 61 in Shamokin Township on Sunday.
Police said Bucher attempted to pass a Chevrolet Uplander driven by Eve M. Maurer, 52, of Mount Carmel, while driving southbound on Route 61, striking the rear of the vehicle. Bucher continued approximately 100 more yards before striking a guard rail and crossing into the northbound lane, where his Honda Accord came to a rest in a section of thick brush. Bucher is believed to be under the influence of narcotics.
JORDAN TOWNSHIP — Stephen M. Straub, 28, of Herndon, was charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic after a Sunday accident in which he struck a speed limit sign with the front of a Ford Fiesta on the westbound shoulder of Urban Road. Police said after impact, he continued on Urban Road, fleeing the scene.
Disorderly conduct and resisting arrest
SUNBURY — Ashley Lynn Russell, 27, of Lewistown, was incarcerated in Mifflin County Prison after allegedly resisting arrest at the Northumberland County Probation Office on July 6. Russell appeared for a scheduled appoitnment and allegedly tested positive for drug use.
