RALPHO TOWNSHIP — John Daniel Butz, 39, of 302 Fairview Street, Pottsville, has been charged by Patrolman Matthew Filarski with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia as well as false identification to law enforcement authorities relating to a July 17 traffic stop conducted in the parking lot of Sheetz.
According to police, the passenger of the vehicle misidentified himself as Joshua Potts. The driver of the motor vehicle provided the name of the male as John Butz, whom was found to have numerous warrants out of Schuylkill, Dauphin and Lancaster counties.
A bag within the vehicle, which Butz indicated was his property, contained a clear square container with a green and red cut straw, police said.
RALPHO TOWNSHIP — Ronie Lee Sattazahn, 51, of 6305 Old Route 22, Bernville, has been charged by Patrolman David Tomtishen with possession of a controlled substance and driving a motorcycle without a permit relating to an accident July 26 at the intersection of State Route 487 at Northumberland Drive.
According to the police report, the defendant was operating a motorcycle when the accident occurred. An ajar bag was discovered that was thrown from the collision and contained three marijuana cigarettes, police said.
Possession of drug paraphernalia
MOUNT CARMEL — Harley David Hoskie, 19, 216 S. Vine St., has been charged by Patrolman Jonathan Mchugh with possession of drug paraphernalia in relation to an incident at his house on July 29.
According to police, when they arrived at the address to investigate an incident that allegedly took place, they observed in a third floor attic bedroom in plain view, two smoking pipes with burnt residue along with a metal grinder in the room the defendant stated was his.
RALPHO TOWNSHIP — Rachel Ann Serakas, 38, of 7 Oak Road, Schuylkill Haven, has been charged by Patrolman Matthew Filarski with possession of a controlled substance and not having a properly functioning registration light in relation to a traffic stop on July 17 at Kase Street and State Route 487.
According to police, the traffic stop was made when it was observed that a vehicle’s registration light was not properly functioning. Police said a hypodermic needle was observed between the driver seat and and door, on the floor.
A search of the vehicle resulted in other drug paraphernalia being found, all of which were seized for evidence purposes, court documents show.
MOUNT CARMEL — Cindy Berkoski, 68, of 302 E. Columbia Ave., Atlas, was charged by Patrolman Kevin Malukas with driving under the influence of alcohol, public drunkness, limitations on backing and disorderly conduct in relation to an incident July 24 at 306 E. Columbia Ave.
According to police, eyewitnesses saw the defendant back her silver Jeep Grand Cherokee into Patricia Becker’s parked Ford Taurus, causing minor damage to the lower half of the bumper. It’s alleged Berkoski exited from the driver’s side of her vehicle with a beer in hand, yelling and appearing to be very intoxicated.
Berkoski was observed with glassy eyes and smelling of alcohol, police said. Berkoski failed to submit to a drug test, court documents show.
RALPHO TOWNSHIP — Christopher F. Kindle, 21, 1023 E. Dewart St., Shamokin, and Alexander S. Kiefer, 21, of 713 Ohara St., Bloomington, Illinois, have been charged by Patrolman David Tomtishen with one count of drug possession, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness relating to an incident at Knoebels Amusement Resort July 10.
According to police, Tomtishen was dispatched after Knoebels security alerted the Coal Township Police Department of suspected drug use on the property.
The accused attempted to elude security officers at the park and were later found by police near the parking lot underneath Pavilion M, police said. They were found in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, court documents show.
MOUNT CARMEL — Ashley Nicole Campbell, 32, has been charged with resisting arrest, providing false indentification to law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct by Patrolman Kyle Schauer relating to a July 30 incident at the first block of East Sixth Street.
According to police, Campbell was spotted walking in the borough and was known to have a warrant from Columbia County. After being stopped, Campbell claimed her name was Amanda Johnson and refused to provide a date of birth.
Police attempted to take her into custody, at which time Campbell pulled away from officers, which caused two officers to fall to the ground. After being subdued, Campbell was found in possession of a small plastic zip bag that contained a white crystal rock-life substance, which was consistant with methamphetamine, police said. Court documents show Campbell was also found with two glass smoking devices and two syringes.
