Burglary

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP — Scott Cover, 26, of Shamokin, was arraigned on burglary and related charges.

State police at Selinsgrove said they responded to a home intrusion call at 65 Golf View Lane, Franklin Township, and found Cover sleeping in the den of the lower area.

Simple assault

SHAMOKIN — Michael Shinskie, 24, of 322 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Nathan Rhodes with simple assault and harassment for allegedly punching Rex Hepner in the face, causing him to suffer a bloody nose and cut above his eye.

Police said the assault occurred at 2:52 a.m. Thursday at 409 N. Rock St.

Theft

SHAMOKIN — Chief of Police Darwin Tobias III charged Jordan Lee Pawelczyk, 26, of 233 S. Sixth St., Shamokin, with theft and receiving stolen property.

Police reported Pawelcyzk is accused of stealing $300 worth of items belonging to Megan Grinaway, of 413 E. Spurzheim St. Police said clothing, a hair straightener, curling iron, iWatch charger and makeup were among the items removed from Grinaway’s residence on July 26.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN — Patrolman Raymond Siko II charged Dylan Purcell, 25, of 2 N. Vine St., Shamokin, with retail theft for allegedly stealing multiple items valued at $54.05 from Weis Markets on Sunday afternoon.

Assault

SHAMOKIN — Chelsey Hayes, 20, of 233 W. Willow St., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Nathan Rhodes with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct relating to a disturbance Wednesday morning.

Police reported Hayes and another female allegedly punched and kicked Ashley Barrows, of 235 W. Willow St., in the face at about 2:15 a.m. Wednesday outside Barrows’ home.

Barrows suffered a cut on her right eye and a swollen face.

The other woman accused of assaulting Barrows has not been identified, police said.
