Two-vehicle accident

COAL TOWNSHIP — No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident at Locust and Walnut streets on April 3.

Coal Township Patrolman Chris Lapotsky reported Joanne Feese, 65, of 1121 W. Independence St., was driving west on Walnut Street at 8 a.m. when she attempted to turn onto Laurel Street. At that time, Lapotsky said, a vehicle driven by Mark Smith, 55, of 1785 Hollow Road, Sunbury, passed Feese’s vehicle and impacted it, causing damage to the left front fender.

Lapotsky said Smith briefly exited his vehicle but left the area without exchanging information with Feese. Smith was cited for leaving the scene of an accident without exchanging information.

Smith’s vehicle wasn’t damaged in the accident.


COAL TOWNSHIP — Michael Craig, 44, of 176 State Route 901, Community Services Group (CSG) Building, was charged by Patrolman Chris Lapotsky with theft for allegedly entering Marvin Patrick’s private room in the CSG Building, removing his clothing and disposing of it in a wooded area nearby.

Police said the clothing was valued at $100.

Public nuisance citations

SHAMOKIN — Cpl. Bryan Primerano has issued seven citations against individuals or corporations for causing a public nuisance by allowing properties they own in the city to have code and safety violations.

Cited were Zerrato G. Cesar, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, for 650 Bear Valley Ave.; Yergeniy Polovnikor, of 1400 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, for 44 S. Sixth St.; Zak Ellen, of New York, New York, for 8 N. Shamokin St.; Marvin Saul Lucero-Valenzuela, of West Chester, for 122 N. Franklin St.; Shamokin RE Holdings LLC, of Stockertown, for 918 E. Race St.; AED Capital LLC, of Pottsville, for 616 E. Packer St.; and Israel Fitzgerald Cummings, of Queens, New York, for 214 S. Shamokin St.
