Multiple charges

STRONG — Joshua A. Phillips, 33, of 220 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Mount Carmel Township Patrolman Kelly Campbell with 12 offenses relating to a July 26 vehicle stop in the parking lot of Turkey Hill Minit Market.

Phillips is charged with felonies of possessing a firearm without a license, receiving stolen property and possessing a designer drug, misdemeanors of possessing a prohibited offensive weapon, unauthorized use of a vehicle, possessing a controlled substance, possessing a small amount of marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia, and summaries of driving without a license, driving under suspension, operating an ATV on a street or highway and failing to possess liability insurance for an ATV.

Police reported Phillips possessed a small caliber revolver, methamphetamine, marijuana, clonazepam, small plastic zip baggies with imprinting on them that are common on heroin baggies and metal knuckles.

Burglary

MOUNT CARMEL — Patrolman Tyler Herbster charged Lorelle Podpora, 57, of 142 Second St., Strong, with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public drunkenness involving incidents on May 16.

Police reported Podpora is accused of breaking into a home at 438 N. Walnut St. and smashing two windows and damaging a grill at 435 E. Second St. Both homes are owned by John Dillow, police said.

Drug offenses

M0UNT CARMEL — Joel N. Kinnaman, 21, of 300 S. Maple St., Apt. 5, Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Jeremy Talanca with possessing a small amount of marijuana, possessing drug paraphernalia (metal marijuana grinder), possessing methamphetamine and driving without a license relating to a vehicle stop May 18 at West Third and Peach streets.

Drug paraphernalia

MOUNT CARMEL — Patrolman Jeremy Talanca charged Tammy M. Brown, 34, of 305 W. Second St., Mount Carmel, with possessing drug paraphernalia (metal pipe) in connection with an April 2 incident at West Fifth and South Maple streets.

Flight to avoid apprehension

MOUNT CARMEL — Johnny Baker, 40, of 439 E. Water St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Jeremy Talanca with flight to avoid apprehension.

Police said Baker, who was wanted on a bench warrant, was spotted by police outside his residence on May 2 before fleeing into 437 E. Water St., where he was discovered in a first-floor bathroom and taken into custody.

Drug charges

MOUNT CARMEL — Jeff Michael Beaver, 57, of 425 S. Hickory St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh with possessing methamphetamine, possessing Tramadol and possessing drug paraphernalia (small plastic bag) relating to a May 17 incident at his home.

Beaver also was charged by Lt. David Donkochik with causing a public nuisance and disorderly conduct by living in a condemned home and having a junk yard in the rear of his property.
