COAL TOWNSHIP — Cpl. Terry Ketchem charged Jeremy L. Deutsch, 43, of 1116 Pulaski Ave., Coal Township, with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia relating to an incident Thursday afternoon at his residence.
During a home visit by State Parole Officer Adam Kusnerick, police said Deutsch was found in possession of marijuana, three homemade smoking pipes and two spoons.
SHAMOKIN — Cpl. Bryan Primerano charged David Thompson, 41, of 23 Gold St., Shamokin, with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia involving a May 5 incident at his home.
SHAMOKIN — Two counts of simple assault and charges of harassment, criminal mischief were filed by Patrolman Scott Weaver against Christopher Mitchell, 49, of 204 S. Pearl St., Shamokin.
According to criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Mitchell is accused of pushing Ashley Barrows twice into a wall, causing her to injure her ribs. He allegedly twisted Barrows’ wrists and threw a liquid into her eyes, causing them to burn. Police said Mitchell also smashed Barrows’ cell phone.
Police said the incidents occurred Monday afternoon at 235 W. Willow St.
Impersonating a police officer
SHAMOKIN — Patrolman Raymond Siko II charged Adam J. Straub, 31, of 48 Duck St., Girardville, with impersonating a police officer on April 18.
Police said Straub falsely identified himself as a police officer in two municipalities to multiple people and displayed photographs on social media of himself wearing a police academy uniform and other police style uniforms.
SHAMOKIN — John F. Gillespie Jr., 29, of 605 Bear Valley Ave., Shamokin, was charged by Patrolman Shane Mowery with false identification to law enforcement authorities, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct relating to a May 7 disturbance at his residence.
Upon being questioned by police about his involvement in a fight with another male in the 600 block of Bear Valley Ave., Gillespie provided a false name, according to a criminal complaint. He also was found in possession of two hypodermic needles, police said.
SHAMOKIN — Patrolman Brandon Cohick charged Stanley F. Lunger, 43, of 713 E. Race St., Shamokin, with possessing drug paraphernalia.
Police reported Lunger possessed a glass smoking pipe containing burnt marijuana residue early Friday morning in the 600 block of East Race Street, where he was found sleeping in a vehicle.
