Liquor law violation
TREVORTON — Houser Strausser VFW Post 7813, of 261 E. Shamokin St., Trevorton, was charged by state police Liquor Control Enforcement with failing to maintain records in conformity with the provisions of liquor code and Title 40 of the Pennsylvania code. (The agency responsible for bringing the charges has been corrected from the original version.)
KULPMONT — Ted Jeffrey Pennypacker, 56, of 1201 Scott St., Kulpmont, was charged by Patrolman Jonathan McHugh with criminal trespass related to an Aug. 13 incident. Police found Pennypacker in his home, which was posted as unfit for human habitation, during after hours. They entered the home and found him hiding in an upstairs closet.
Marijuana and DUI
MOUNT CARMEL — Aaron E. Homanick, 32, of 1109 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, was charged by Trooper Jason Drumheller with misdemeanors of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and two DUI misdemeanors.
Drumheller pulled Homanick over while patrolling West Fifth Street in Mount Carmel for a non-functioning passenger-side headlight and saw a plastic bag with suspected marijuana on the passenger seat. Homanick allegedly told police he smoked marijuana prior to operating the vehicle, and an addition three baggies with marijuana were found in the center console.
MOUNT CARMEL — Vincent Michael Addaman, 32, of 115 S. Walnut St., Mount Carmel, was charged by Trooper Logan Spiece with possession of a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, expired vehicle registration and unauthorized transfer of registration.
Spiece reported pulling over Addaman for having an expired registration belonging to a 1998 Jeep on the Ford Focus he was driving in Mount Carmel. He said Addaman told him he transferred the plate after the registration plate for the Ford was seized by Ashland Police Department due to insurance cancellation. Spiece alleged smelling the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and during a search located a plastic bag of marijuana in the center console, a smoking pipe and a marijuana cigar.
DUI and endangering a child
ELYSBURG — Dustin J. Gautsch, 37, of 1503 Snydertown Road, Sunbury, was charged by Patrolman Glen Wonsock with several DUI and traffic charges and one count of endangering the welfare of a child related to a July 3 incident.
Gautsch was observed by Wonsock swerving over the center lines on Route 54. He was pulled over after turning onto Bottle Drive and Wonsock reported he had bloodshot eyes and was slurring his speech. His 10-year-old daughter was in the back of the vehicle, with Gautsch saying he had just taken to her to Knoebels.
Gautsch was taken into custody after a preliminary breath test had positive results and the child was placed in the custody of her grandfather. A blood test showed a blood alcohol content of .157, and indicated the presence of THC.
KULPMONT — Donald Albright, 51, of 1069 Scott St., Kulpmont, was charged by Patrolman Stephen Mazzeo with retail theft for allegedly taking a bottle of Nyquil valued at $10.99 from Turkey Hill on Chestnut Street without paying.
