Aggravated assault

BRIAR CREEK — Austin Lee Kerns, 18, of Berwick, was incarcerated in lieu of $100,000 bail at Columbia County Prison Friday morning after he allegedly attacked Dakota Whitmire, 27, of Berwick, in a wooded area between CSS Industries and Briar Creek Plaza in Columbia County.

Bloomsburg state police said Whitmire sustained injuries to his head and face.

Liquor violation

TREVORTON —Desantis Distributors, 1050 W. Shamokin St., P.O. Box 474 was charged by Pennsylvania State Police for allegedly selling an alcoholic beverage to a minor July 2.

Drug paraphernalia

COAL TOWNSHIP — Michelle Cragle, 37, of 909 E. Eighth St., Bloomsburg, has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Cragle was taken into custody July 11 in the 1100 block of Center Street in Tharptown on a bench warrant by Coal Township Police. When Cragle taken into custody, she was allegedly in possession of a syringe used for injecting heroin and methamphetamine.

COAL TOWNSHIP — Joshua Rhoades, 34, of 1201 Race St., Williamsport, has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana. Police made contact with Rhoades on May 17. Rhoades was detained after it was learned there was a warrant for his arrest out of Blair County. Rhoades was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana and three syringes used for injecting methamphetamine.


COAL TOWNSHIP — Ryan Weaver, 22, of 924 W. State St., Coal Township, has been charged with two counts of DUI. The charges are a result of a vehicle accident on July 13 in the area of 1008 Trevorton Road. It was learned that Weaver had been driving after using marijuana. Blood tests confirmed the presence of marijuana in Weaver’s blood.

Marijuana possession

COAL TOWNSHIP — On Friday Charles Lewis Jr., 23, of Bronx, New York, was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana from an incident that occurred on Monday. According to police, around 8:40 p.m. officers were called to a report of suspicious activity in the area of the Dollar General at the Anthra Plaza, where contact was made with Lewis. Officers allegedly found 4.5 grams of marijuana in Lewis’ possession.
