Retail theft

COAL TOWNSHIP — Nichola Hart, 38, and Dina M. Delorenzo, 50, both of 191 E. Dewart St., Shamokin, were charged by Patrolman Jason Adams with misdemeanors of retail theft and criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft in connection with an Oct. 15 incident at Weis Markets in the Anthra Plaza.

Police said both women are accused of stealing several items valued at $380.71 from the store.

Theft charges

STONINGTON — Trooper Christopher Kolosinsky, of state police at Stonington, charged Deanna Lynn Delgado, 41, of Steelton, with misdemeanors of theft by unlawful taking and identity theft relating to an Aug. 8 incident.

According to a criminal complaint filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III, Delgado is accused of fraudulently using the name of her daughter, Jasmine Whitney Walborn, of Herndon, to open an account with internet service provider Viasat and incur a debt of $728.19.

Basement fire

COAL TOWNSHIP — The Coal Township Fire Department responded to the Reed residence at 861 Mulberry St. around 6 p.m. Wednesday for a basement fire. Firefighters located a small fire inside a bathroom wall. The fire was extinguished within minutes by using a water canister. Chief Russ Feese said the cause was electrical in nature. All units returned to the station within an hour.
