Public drunkenness

COAL TOWNSHIP — Melissa Wolfgang, 35, of 332 E. Center St., Mount Carmel, was cited by Coal Township police for public drunkenness after she was found sleeping on a bench near Weis Markets in the Anthra Plaza on Tuesday morning.

Keys found

COAL TOWNSHIP — A set of keys was turned into Coal Township police Wednesday morning and can be claimed at the police station.

Contraband

COAL TOWNSHIP — Jesse Ray McLaughlin Jr., 34, an inmate at SCI-Coal Township, was charged by Trooper Brian Smyers of state police at Stonington with felonies of contraband and possessing with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Police reported McLaughlin told his sister, Tymber McLaughlin, to bring 75 Suboxone strips into the prison. The strips were given to McLaughlin by his sister during a visit to the prison on June 22.

Drug, DUI charges

SHAMOKIN — Trooper Dominic Picerno of state police at Stonington charged Kurtis Lee Twining, 31, of 1700 Maple Ave., Coal Township, with possessing a small amount of marijuana, possessing drug paraphernalia, four counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, failing to properly display his registration plate, failing to notify PennDOT about a change of address and driving a vehicle with black window tint.

Police reported Twining was driving under the influence of marijuana and clonazepam when he was stopped June 21 on West Pine Street.
