SHAMOKIN — Patrolman Raymond Siko II has charged Whitney Mae Bostian, 27, of 951 Pine St., Kulpmont, with possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. According to police, on June 25 the defendant was found to be in possession of a syringe, spoon with residue and blue straw with powder residue.
Theft from vehicles
HERNDON — Four vehicles parked between 10 a.m. July 1 and 5:30 a.m. July 2 in the borough were stolen from. State police at Stonington reported Wednesday that Trooper Nathan Messner responded and determined several vehicles that were left unlocked had been opened during the night and that cash and wallets were removed. Stolen were $5 in coins from a compartment in a dash; a wallet containing $10 and a license; $100 from a wallet; and $1,000 that was raised as a fundraiser. Victims were Chris Strohecker, 49, Amanda Kisella, 36, Erin Cotner, 32, all of Herndon; and Brenden Cregger, 19, of Dalmatia.
Theft from vehicles
JACKSON TOWNSHIP — Five vehicles parked between 8 p.m. July 1 and 6:45 a.m. July 2 in the township had items stolen from them. State police at Stonington reported Wednesday that Trooper Raymond Snarski responded to a burglary and several theft from motor vehicle incidents in the area. Victims were Jathan Burgess, 31, of Herndon, Fred Rishel, 67, of Herndon, and Brandon Carson, 40, of Dalmatia. Anyone with information is encouraged to call state police at 570-286-5601.
LITTLE MAHANOY TOWNSHIP — One person suffered a minor injury as a result of a two-vehicle accident July 5 on Route 225 at Wayside Lane. State police at Stonington reported Wednesday that a Dodge Caravan, operated by Wanda Vester, 61, of Sunbury, was at a stop sign on Hillcrest Drive and then pulled out into the path of a northbound Saturn L200, operated by George Derck, 58, of Rebuck. Vester received a minor injury and was transported to a hospital. Derck was not injured. Investigator Trooper Jordan Judson charged Vester with “duties at stop signs.”
ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP — State police at Stonington reported Wednesday that a residential burglary occurred on July 2 at 182 Kasey Drive. Trooper Christopher Kolosinsky stated that the incident occurred at 10:08 a.m. and the vicim was Ray Pfleegor, 85, of Sunbury. An investigation is ongoing.
ZERBE TOWNSHIP — Three people may be charged as a result of a physical altercation on July 5 at 400 W. Market St., Trevorton. State police at Stonington reported Wednesday that Trooper Christopher Kolosinsky responded at 1:18 a.m. and discovered Shane Hart, 29, of Paxinos, had been assaulted. No serious injuries occurred. Kolosinsky stated that harassment charges are pending against Austin Harris, 20, of Trevorton, Joshua Spotts, 26, of Klingerstown, and Thomas Yerger, 28, of Trevorton.
