Trash accumulation

SHAMOKIN — Cpl. Bryan Primerano cited five people for accumulating rubbish and trash outside their residence.

Cited were Charles R. Persing, 53, of 1010 E. Race St.; Andre Jarrell, 35, of 827 N. Sixth St.; John Pickin, 60, of 1007 N. Vine St.; Pamela S. Paczkoski, 41, of 310 S. Coal St.; and Martika L. Treaster, 24, of 331 S. Shamokin St.

Retail theft

SHAMOKIN — Nina Foulds, 22, of 1220 W. Fern St., Coal Township, was cited by Patrolman Scott Weaver for retail theft for allegedly stealing candy and lighters from Turkey Hill Minit Market on North Second Street on Feb. 16.

Two sentenced

SUNBURY — Two local defendants were sentenced Thursday in Northumberland County Court of Common Pleas by Senior Judge Harold F. Woelfel.

• Michael Kelly, 47, of Kulpmont, was sentenced to 12 months probation, ordered to complete 25 hours of community service and must pay costs and fees after pleading guilty to theft by unlawful taking.

Kelly was charged by Kulpmont police relating to a Nov. 24 incident.

• Amber Kehler, 24, of Coal Township, was sentenced to 5 to 23 months in county jail and three years probation after pleading guilty to possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Kehler, who was given credit for 163 days served in prison, will be released from jail upon approval of a home plan.

Kehler was charged by Shamokin police in connection with an Oct. 2 incident.
