SHAMOKIN TOWNSHIP — Melissa Rosado, 26, of Shamokin Township, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when she and her boyfriend were found eating McDonald’s food behind the BK Car Wash in Springfield Tuesday. An odor of marijuana emanated from the vehicle and, when confronted about it, Rosado handed over a blue marijuana grinder containing marijuana residue. A silver digital weighing scale containing marijuana residue was removed after a search of the vehicle.
Harassment and disorderly conduct
COAL TOWNSHIP — Two citations were filed against Jeremy Berkheiser, 26, of 1064 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, as a result of an incident that occurred at the Walmart parking lot, Route 61, Coal Township, at 3:50 p.m. Monday.
It is alleged that Berkheiser was engaged in a heated discussion with Matthew Bird, 25, of 1033 W. Pine St., Coal Township, and grabbed Bird by the throat. Berkheiser also alarmed and annoyed other people who were in the parking lot at the time, police alleged. The citations, for harassment and disorderly conduct, were filed by Coal Township police at the office of District Court Judge John Gembic.
Hit and run
COAL TOWNSHIP — A hit-and-run damaged a maroon 2014 Honda Accord while it was parked on 19th Street near the intersection with Tharp Street between 1 and 6 p.m. Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Coal Township Police Department at 570-644-0333.
