TREVORTON — Clair “Sid” Houtz, 73, of 826 Franklin Ave, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born June 15, 1944, in Tower City, a son of the late Mark H. and Ethal (Keiser) Houtz.

Sid was married June 29, 1968, to the former Annette Lahr, who survives.

He worked in construction and retired as a custodian from Line Mountain School District.

Sid was a longtime resident of Trevorton and was a life member of the Trevorton Fire Co. and fire police. He enjoyed serving his community. He was an avid camper, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s baseball and football games. He also enjoyed NASCAR and watching his favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings. He enjoyed making soupies with his son’s, grandsons and son-in-law.

In addition to hife wife, Annette, he is survived by a daughter, Sherry Paul and her husband, Charlie; three sons, Marc Houtz and his wife, Danielle, John Houtz and his wife, Stevie, and Jason Houtz; 15 grandchildren, Charles and Jessica Paul, Jesse and Alicia Paul, Ryan and his fiancé, Lauren Galler, Corey Paul, Sumner Paul, Courtney Woodward, Ethan Houtz, Kara Houtz, John Houtz Jr., Emily Houtz, Chase Houtz, Alexis Troup, Kelly Fickinger, Madison Gilmore and Gregory Guest; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Lynore Buffington; a stepsister, Violet Shaffer; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Fickinger; a stepfather, Wiliam E. Houtz; and a stepsister, Mary-Jane (Keiser) Gamble.

HOUTZ — Clair “Sid” Houtz, 73, of 826 Franklin Ave., Trevorton. Family and friend are invited to a celebration of life service at 5 p.m. Sunday, at the Trevorton Ambulance building, 510 W. Market St., Trevorton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sid’s memory to Trevorton Ambulance Association, Trevorton Fire Co. or the American Heart Association. Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, Trevorton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
