EAST CAMERON TOWNSHIP — Dorothy “Dot” Zeigenfuse, 94, of East Cameron Township, went to be with our Lord at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, following a recent hospitalization at Lehigh Valley Schuylkill East Hospital in Pottsville.

She was born Sept. 9, 1927, a daughter of the late Harvey and Esther (Metarskie) Wolongavich. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of East Cameron Township.

She attended schools in Doutyville and Shamokin.

On May 12, 1945, she married the love of her life, Bernard Zeigenfuse. The two were married for more than 63 years and they loved dancing to polkas and golfing.

In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at the Ashland Knitting Mill, in Ashland, until her retirement.

Dorothy loved to spend time visiting with her family, cooking, shopping, decorating for the holidays, traveling, golfing, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles.

She was a member of the Tri-Valley Senior Citizens Association and was also a faithful member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland, where, when her health allowed, she was always willing to volunteer.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Cheryl and son-in-law, Dale, of Shamokin; her granddaughter, Jennifer Koch, of Shamokin; her grandson, Jeffrey Koch and his wife, Nardimar, of Dalton; her great-granddaughter, Michaela Snyder and her companion, Ryan Freeman, of Marietta, Georgia; her great-grandson, Julian Koch; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband; a sister, Helen; an infant brother; a sister, Marie Latsha; a niece, Patricia Latsha; and her great-grandson, Louis Koch.

Beloved Mom, Grammie and friend — we will miss you.
