SHAMOKIN — Frank L. Doone Sr., 73, of 50 W. Adams St., passed away at 7:55 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community, Mount Carmel.

A resident of Shamokin for the past 29 years, Frank was born in Camden, New Jersey, May 30, 1945, a son of the late Florence (Bellafront) and Francis Doone.

Frank served two tours of duty in the U.S. Army from June 23, 1967 to Sept. 24, 1968, and Sept. 25, 1968 to June 1, 1973, during the Vietnam War.

He was employed as a truck driver, delivering Fleetwood Motor Homes across the United States.

Frank enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He was a member of the Trevorton American Legion and participated in their Veterans Day parades.

He is survived by two daughters, Wanda Parker and her husband, John, and Audrey Straub and her husband, Ben; a son, Frankie Doone Jr.; a daughter, Martha Doone, and her mother, Tammy Brooke; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a stepmother, Doris (Heebner) Doone; a half-brother, David Doone; a half-sister, Charlotte Garemore and her husband, Frank; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Zignar.

DOONE —Frank L. Doone Sr., 73, of 50 W. Adams St., Shamokin. A veteran military honors service will be held at noon Thursday, Oct. 18, at James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W. Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township. A visitation for family and friends will be from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 18, at the funeral home. The interment of his cremains will be private at the convenience of his family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to James Kelley Funeral Home, James F. Kelley, director.
