ASHLAND — Gregory H. Zaharick, 74, of Deep Creek Road, passed away Oct. 6, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, East Norwegian Street, Pottsville.

He was born June 3, 1947, in Ashland, a son of Irene Felegy Zaharick, Girardville, and the late John Zaharick.

He was a graduate of North Schuylkill High School, Class of 1965, and was employed as a concrete finisher with the Laborers Local Union, No. 158, Lingelstown, until his retirement.

Greg served in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft engine service mechanic, earning him the National Defense Medal.

He was a member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Airport Road, Ashland, the Ashland V.F.W. Post No. 7654 and the Good Fellowship Club, Ashland. Preceding him in death was his wife, Sally, who passed in 2018; a son, Richard; a brother, Michael; an infant sister, Joan; and a grandson Izack Zaharick.

Greg is survived by three sons, George Zaharick and his wife, Deanne, of Lake Stevens, Washington, John Zaharick and his companion, Jennifer Weikel, of Pottsville, and Gregory Zaharick and his wife, Amy, of San Diego, California; four brothers, John Zaharick, of Ashland, Joseph Zaharick and his wife, Irene, of Mount Carmel, Steven Zaharick, of West Chester, and Martin Zaharick and his wife, Joanne, of Freemansburg; five sisters, Gail, wife of Angelo Gillano, of Massillon, Ohio, Mary McAloose, of Treskow, Jane, wife of Jeff Dorman, of Australia, Ann Zaharick, of Girardville, and Janet Nelson, of Boston, Massachusetts; and four grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.

ZAHARICK — Gregory H. Zaharick, 74, of Deep Creek Road, Ashland. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 11 a.m. Oct. 21 in Christ’s United Lutheran Church, 437 Airport Road, Ashland, with the Rev. Danna Heckman Bell, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ashland, officiating. Military honors at the church will be provided by members of the Ashland V.F.W. Post No. 7654. Inurnment with U.S. Navy honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A calling time in the church will begin at 9 a.m. in the church until service. The Richard W.
