COAL TOWNSHIP — Helen T. Anascavage, 74, of 307 state Route 2026, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center, in Danville.

She was born in Marion Heights, Jan. 22, 1948, a daughter of the late John and Jeanette (Tenarchick) White.

She graduated from Mount Carmel Area High School, Class of 1965.

Helen was married Feb. 8, 1969, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, to Robert Anascavage who passed away Sept. 21, 2021.

In her younger years, Helen was employed at Shroyer’s Dress Co. She then began working for Lady Hope and later on in life she was employed at the Shamokin Area High School Annex.

Helen was a member of Mother Cabrini Church.

She absolutely loved her family as well as spending time with them and her fur babies Lilly (cat) and Sipy (dog).

She enjoyed cooking, baking and shopping along with playing cards, mini golf, going camping and dancing.

Helen is survived by Bobby Anascavage, of Coal Township, Gary Anascavage, of Coal Township, and Tara Witmer and her husband, Lester, of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Zachary, Conner, Nathan and Gage; three stepchildren; two brothers, John “Jack” White and Paul White; her sister, Theresa White; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Costa; and several nieces and nephews.

Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette Smith.

ANASCAVAGE — Helen T. Anascavage, 74, of 307 state Route 2026, Coal Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a..m. Wednesday at Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin. A viewing will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home to help defray the cost of the funeral.
