SHAMOKIN — Janice M. Mrowka, 80, of 122 N. Cherry St., died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township.

She was born May 15, 1941, and was a lifelong resident of the Shamokin area.

She was a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional School.

Janice was married in 1961, in St. Mary Church, Shamokin, to Robert A. Mrowka, who survives.

Janice was employed with American Greeting Cards, going to different stores to set up displays and made sure they were all properly supplied.

She was a member of Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, in Elysburg.

Janice enjoyed going shopping and doing word search puzzles in her spare time. Most of all, she loved being with her family. She was a great caregiver, always being there for her family and making sure they were all well cared for.

Janice is survived by her husband, Robert, and their children, Theresa Staniszewski and her husband, Tim, of Catawissa, Mary Kobbe and her husband, Robert, of Catawissa, Melissa Mrowka, at home, and Christopher Mrowka and his wife, Heidi, of Elysburg; six grandchildren, Audra Kobbe, Krista Eppinette and her husband, Mark, Kaylan Haight, Cory Mrowka and Kennedy and Reagan Dorman; and a great-grandchild, Gabriel Eppinette.

MROWKA — Janice M. Mrowka, 80, of 122 N. Cherry St., Shamokin. There will be no visitation or hours of calling. Those wishing to attend the Mass of Christian Burial are asked to meet at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, Elysburg, at 11:45 a.m. Saturday. Mass will be begin at noon with the Rev. Father Joseph Scanlan as celebrant. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. The Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., Leonard J. Lucas Jr., supervisor, 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, is assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Janice’s memory to the Alzheimers Association at alz.org, or by mail to the Alzheimers Association, Home Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., FL 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
