SHAMOKIN — Joy E. Snyder, 67, of Shamokin, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, at her home.
She was born July 30, 1953, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Marlin and Phyllis (Kriner) Haupt.
Joy was a 1971 graduate of Shikellamy High school.
On Feb. 14, 1989, she married the love of her life, Roy A. Snyder Sr.
Joy was self-employed and started her own crafting business, Creations by Joy, selling her crafts at local shows and fairs.
She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as attending her grandchildren’s’ sporting events.
Joy is survived by her husband, Roy A. Snyder Sr.; a sister, Carol Sassaman, of Lewisburg; two sons, Lee J. Phillips Jr. and his wife, Rachel, of Herndon, and Matthew A. Phillips and wife, Natalie, of Dornsife; two stepsons, Roy A. Snyder Jr. and Kurt M. Snyder and his wife, Jamie, of Leck Kill; 11 grandchildren, Jordan and his wife, Maribeth, Brok, Hali, Zoe, Joelle, Samantha, Ki, Brynn, Madelyn, Maxwell and Violet.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Marlin and Phyllis (Kriner) Haupt; two sisters and a brother, Susan Mattera, Gail Swank and Donald Haupt.
SNYDER — Joy E. Snyder, 67, of Shamokin. A celebration of Joy’s life is being planned for a later date.
