SHAMOKIN — Mary Lou Weikel, 73, of Shamokin, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, at Gesinger Medical Center, in Danville.

She was born March 20, 1947, at Shamokin State General Hospital, a daughter of the late Mary and Delmar Roughton.

She attended Shamokin schools.

She was married to the Leroy Weikel, of Shamokin, who preceded her in death.

Mary Lou worked as an aide in several nursing homes in the Shamokin area.

Survivors included her sister, Pat Barrett Weaver, of Kulpmont; her son, Leroy, of Shamokin; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Beside her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Williams, Delmar Roughton and Richard Roughton.

Mary Lou is now in heaven with those who have gone before her. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral arrangements were private.
